Introduction
The hot box resin for foundry acts as a binder that cures when exposed to heat. Its curing process occurs in two stages: in the first stage, the curing agent releases a strong acid under heating conditions; in the second stage, this strong acid catalyzes rapid curing of the hot box resin for foundry. The binder system consists of two components—Component I is a furfuryl alcohol-modified urea-formaldehyde resin, while Component II serves as the curing agent.
